Nicole Uberreich is a first-year PhD-student in the German Department at Rutgers University. She received her B.A. in Slavic Studies (Russian) and German Philology from the University of Vienna, where she soon will finish her M.A. in German. Her research interests are trauma theory, labor camp literature as well as concepts of the self and questions of self-writing. Last semester Nicole took a class with Peter Wortsman, a renowned translator and writer, and is now working on a new translation of “The Canterbury Tales” into German.
